If you don’t have access to a printer, no worries! You can easily draw the hedgehog’s body freehand onto a piece of cardboard, but we’ve provided the template for ease for those who prefer to print. We would recommend glue the printed template onto cardboard for added sturdiness but you can also glue the leaves directly onto the printer paper if you prefer.

Instructions
- Print the Template: Start by downloading the free printable hedgehog template, or draw a freehand hedgehog shape on cardboard.
- Cut Out the Hedgehog: After printing the template, help your kids cut out the hedgehog’s body. If you're working with younger kids or toddlers, this step is a great way to support their fine motor skills. We recommend gluing the hedgehog shape onto cardboard for added sturdiness if using the template
- Prepare the Leaves: Gather natural materials like leaves from your backyard or local park. This is the perfect time of year to get outside and collect a variety of autumn leaves. These will become the hedgehog’s spikes, giving it that spiky creature look from the animal kingdom.
