Step by Step Instructions:
Step 1: Paint your wooden star. Allow to dry completely and then paint one more coat.

Step 2: While your stars are drying, cut your ribbons into 9” long pieces.
I used 10 ribbons per ornament, but this depends on the length of your cinnamon sticks.

Step 3: Tie each ribbon in a double knot around the cinnamon stick.
Once all the ribbons are tied, use a ruler and scissors or rotary cutter to cut the ribbons on a diagonal, cutting them into a tree shape.

Step 4: Using craft glue or a hot glue gun, attach your wooden star to the top front of your ornament.

Step 5: Cut a length of ribbon or piece of twine to your desired length to serve as your hanger and attach to the back top of the ornament.
Allow to dry before hanging on your tree.

Aren’t they so cute?! These cinnamon stick Christmas tree ornaments will look and smell so festive hanging from your tree.

These cinnamon stick ornaments are definitely my new favorite Christmas ornament!
You can change up the look by using different colors and patterns on the ribbon, to coordinate with the color scheme of your Christmas tree and add your own personality.
Use a variety of styles, patterns, colors, fabrics, textures and so on for your diy ribbon christmas ornaments.

Helping put together these simple DIY Christmas ornaments is a great fine motor work out for kids, building up fine motor skills and hand strength is so important for little ones, and these ribbon ways is a fun way to get in some practice.
They may need help with some of the tying, and always be careful using a hot glue gun with children.
