As well as buying my children toys for Christmas, I always try to find some books that they will enjoy so that I can give some new books as a Christmas gift.

Books2Door have a great selection, especially for book box sets, so it’s easy to find something that will appeal to my kids.

The great thing about buying a box set of books is that they have the whole series so once they get started and enjoy the first book in a set, there is no delay and they can race through the whole series.

This is perfect for my 10 year old R as he is a very keen reader and normally when I buy him a book that I think he will enjoy, within the next couple of days he is already coming to ask me please can I order book 2, and book 3 of the series. So buying the whole box set just makes life easier all round – it also tends to be so much more cost effective.

the mysterious Benedict society books box set

This time, I chose the Mysterious Benedict Society box set of books for R

This series is by Trenton Lee Stewart and includes 5 books:

1. The Mysterious Benedict Society
2. The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey
3. The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner’s Dilemma
4. The Extraordinary Education of Nicholas Benedict
5. The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Riddle of the Ages

What are the Mysterious Benedict Society Books about?

When a peculiar advertisement appears in the newspaper for children to take part in a secret mission, children everywhere sit a series of mysterious tests. In the end, just four children succeed: Reynie, Kate, Sticky and Constance. They have three things in common: they are all honest, all remarkably talented and all orphans. They must go undercover at the Learning Institute for the Very Enlightened where the only rule is that there are no rules. There they must work as a team to save not only themselves, but also the world outside the walls.

This book series is recommended for ages around 9-14 years old and R aged 10 really enjoyed these books.

This set is available on Books2Door for a discounted price of 15.94 for the whole box set which is great value for 5 books!

The Ultimate Peppa Pig Collection 50 Books Set

For my youngest child, N aged 4 years, I chose the Ultimate Peppa Pig Collection 50 books set.

This box set is great value with 50 books for just 28.99 which works out at close to 50p per book! For kids who love reading, being able to get hold of lots and lots of books at such prices is a definite win.

The format of these books is slightly smaller than when you buy these titles individually, but it is the same story. We do already have a few of these Peppa Pig books in the larger formats but still for the entire box set it is amazing value and worth picking up if you have a Peppa Pig fan.

The smaller sizes of these is also good for space saving. When you have a house full of kids who all love to read, the amount of books can quickly take up a lot of space in the house – this is definitely the case for us.

You can pick up box sets of books from Books2Door which would be perfect to use for this and it is a lovely Christmas tradition to introduce for the countdown to Christmas
