When you have a little one, you want to be sure that you’re doing the best for them – from how we feed them, to how we play with them and put them to sleep, right down to the nappies that we put on them.
I have used Pampers nappies over the years with all of my four children, and have always been able to rely on them for quality. They were the first nappies I turned to with my eldest nearly a decade ago, and now I’m putting them on little N, who’s 9 months old.
Baby N is almost 9 months! That has really flown by, as she’s transformed from a tiny newborn into a super active cheeky and funny baby with lots of personality. It also means that our weaning journey has been well under way, as we’ve been exploring all kinds of tastes, textures and different foods.
She still doesn’t have a big appetite, but is always open to trying new things and I’m happy to say she does like her green veggies, with some of her favourite foods so far being broccoli, peas and cucumber!
When we first started weaning Baby N (around 6 months), one of the first baby foods I introduced to her, alongside finger foods like sticks of cucumber which she loves, was Babease baby food pouches.
They have a range of purees which are suitable for when you first start weaning, and then a second stage for around 7 months and up. The foods are vegetable led, so are more savoury than a lot of the fruity pouches you often come across (when you look at baby food pouches, you might be shocked to see ones marketed as vegetables often still have a huge fruit content!)
The Infantino 3 in 1 Sensory Discovery Car Walker is a brilliant toy that grows with your child, and is definitely one of baby N’s favourites at the moment (age 7 months). It’s really well designed and has lots of different features to keep her busy. We’ve been using it indoors and outdoors and she plays with it every day.
Weaning your little one onto solid food is one of the most exciting milestones of babyhood, but unfortunately it can also be one of the messiest stages! It’s really lovely to see Baby N trying and enjoying new foods, but I find myself scrubbing the kitchen floor three times a day in the aftermath of each meal! This is where the BooginHead Splat Mat comes in.
I’ve always been a fan of Lamaze toys. They’re brilliant right from birth, and all four kids have enjoyed playing with them. Now that Baby N is getting older, more play options are opening up to her so I was keen to explore some these new Lamaze toys which are suitable for babies 6 months and up.
Cosimo Concerto and Stacking Star Seeker are both new toys to the wide range available from Lamaze.
For Aisha is a really handy solution for parents looking for convenient foods for babies on busy days, or on the go, but requiring Halal options. I heard of For Aisha a couple of years ago, when a friend of mine reviewed it here on In The Playroom but now that baby N is 7 months and getting on really well with her eating, we had to give it a try ourselves!
The Fisher-Price Hippo Projection Soother is an extremely cute baby product, which also has a functional role as a soother for bed time. The Hippo offers a starry night show that projects on to the ceiling, as well as music or soothing nature sounds, which are calming and relaxing to help encourage sleep.
The POP n Jump from Summer Infant has been one of our favourite Summer must haves this year! It’s been brilliant on all of the hot days we’ve been having, and I’m looking forward to taking it away on holiday with us too.
The POP n Jump is a baby activity station, which is super portable as it folds up quickly and easily, and is really lightweight. It also has a UV canopy making it really handy for outdoor use during very sunny weather.
