On Christmas Eve we went to see Disney on Ice 100 Years of Magic at the 02 arena. I love Disney and the kids are big fans of lots of Disney characters so we had been really looking forward to the show and it made a great family day out.

This is the second Disney on Ice show that we have seen (we saw Disney on Ice Passport to Adventure two years ago in Wembley Arena) and it was just as fun as the first time. The shows are significantly different to make it worth your while going to see each new show.

Disney On Ice 100 Years of Magic includes 65 Disney characters from 18 classic Disney stories that have been loved throughout the last 100 years.

It of course includes Mickey Mouse, Minnie, Donald and Goofy along with old classic favourites such as Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket and more modern Disney Pixar characters like Buzz Lightyear and Woody, and the Incredibles. The Incredibles were Mr Z’s favourite characters of the show although I preferred some of the more “fairy tale” parts like the dance with all of the Disney princesses. The great thing about this Disney on Ice show is that it does include something for everyone.

The show includes slightly longer story pieces from Pinocchio and Mulan and even a song and dance dedicated to the “Small World” ride at Disneyland. We enjoyed this ride earlier in the year at Disneyland Paris and we all loved this part of the show.

My boys are 3, 5 and 6 now and all enjoyed the show, but the first time we went to a Disney on Ice show my youngest was only 1 and he still managed okay.

We’re already waiting to see what Disney on Ice show comes out next and will definitely plan to go again.
