Our Experience with Naked Whey Hitting Protein Goals as a Family

Lately, protein powder has become a regular thing in our house. Between my own workouts and my three teenagers heading to the gym or doing sports after school, we’ve all been looking for easy ways to make sure we’re getting enough protein.

We’ve tried a few different options, but one we keep coming back to is Naked Whey Protein. The vanilla version has been a favourite because it’s simple, clean, and easy to use in so many different ways.

When it comes to protein goals, the general advice is to aim for around 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight just to cover your basic daily needs, but if you’re active or working on building muscle, many experts suggest somewhere between 1.2 to 2 grams per kilogram.

To put that into perspective, even for everyday life, someone who weighs around 60 kilos would still need about 48 grams of protein a day at the 0.8 level and that’s before factoring in gym sessions or sports. Hitting those numbers through regular meals can sometimes be a challenge, which is where something like Naked Whey makes it a lot easier to stay on track.

That means if you weigh 70kg, and are building muscle you’d be looking at anywhere from about 85 to 140 grams of protein a day depending on your activity level.

Hitting those numbers can be tricky with food alone, especially on busy days, which is why having something like Naked Whey on hand makes it much easier to stay consistent.

What Naked Whey Protein Is Like

You might wonder what makes this one different from all the other protein powders out there, and for me it comes down to the quality and simplicity.

Naked Whey is made from grass-fed whey sourced from small non-GMO dairy farms, with cows that are free roaming and raised without growth hormones like rBGH or rBST. The ingredients list is refreshingly short with just three things: grass-fed whey protein, organic coconut sugar, and natural vanilla flavour.

That means no artificial sweeteners, no colours, and no unnecessary extras. Each serving packs in around 25 grams of protein along with about 5.9 grams of BCAAs, (these are BCAAs are branched-chain amino acids — leucine, isoleucine, and valine — which are especially important for muscle growth and recovery) so this is a big help when it comes to strength training and recovery. They help reduce soreness after workouts and give your body the building blocks it needs to repair and strengthen muscle.

It’s also fairly low in fat and sugar, with roughly 2 grams of fat (only 0.5 grams saturated) and about 5 grams of sugar per serving.

In other words, it’s clean, simple, and effective exactly what we all need in a protein powder.

How We Use Naked Whey Protein in Our Household

We may not all be bodybuilders, but we do want to stay strong, recover well, and make sure we actually reach our protein goals.

Between school runs, gym sessions, and everything else, my own meals can sometimes get delayed or a bit rushed, so Naked Whey is a great way for me to fill the gap when I don’t have time to sit down for something more substantial.

My teenagers mostly use it alongside their regular meals, especially after the gym, when they’ll mix a couple of scoops with water or milk and sometimes add a banana or some berries to make it more of a smoothie.

We’ve also been enjoying experimenting with it in the kitchen adding it into pancakes or muffins works brilliantly, giving us an extra protein boost without changing the flavour or texture. It’s such an easy way to make sure we’re all getting what we need, whether in a quick shake, a smoothie, or even baked into breakfast.

We use the vanilla flavour but you can also opt for strawberry, chocolate, double chocolate, chocolate pb (chocolate peanut butter) or go for unflavoured if you prefer.

What It’s Good For (And What To Consider)

For us, the biggest advantage of Naked Whey is how well it supports recovery and muscle building. The combination of protein and BCAAs makes a real difference after workouts, and I like knowing that it comes from grass-fed cows with such a short, clean ingredient list.

It feels like a healthier choice compared to some powders that are packed with fillers or artificial sweeteners.

I also appreciate how versatile it is and that we can throw it into smoothies, mix it quickly with water or milk, or even use it in baking without it tasting strange.

Another plus is that Naked Nutrition does third-party testing for things like heavy metals, which adds peace of mind.

Of course, there are a couple of things to consider. Since it’s not lactose-free, it won’t work for everyone who’s sensitive to dairy, and the vanilla flavour is quite mild. Personally, I like that it isn’t overly sweet or artificial, but if you prefer a stronger taste it might feel subtle. Price-wise, it’s not the cheapest option out there, but for the quality and simplicity, I feel like it’s worth it.

All in all, Naked Whey is now a staple in our house for me and the teens. We all get gym in, sports, school, and sometimes dinner is delayed or we need that extra protein boost. Having something clean, simple, and reliable helps us hit our protein goals without fuss.

If you’re considering a protein powder and want something with minimal extras, good nutrition stats, and something that works well for mixed needs (teen athletes + adult workouts), Naked Whey is absolutely worth a look.
