Choosing to get a trampoline is an exciting venture, and one that comes with plenty of benefits for you and your family. Not only do they offer hours of fun, but they’re also a great way of introducing some exercise into your routine. Bouncing on a trampoline is low-impact, easily accessible, and super fun. No matter whether you live in an apartment or a home with a garden, there’s a trampoline on the market for you. Today we’re exploring the different sizes to hopefully shed some light on which size option is best for you.

What are the most common round trampoline sizes?

Several different round trampoline sizes are available on the market, so there should be one to fit your needs perfectly. Here are the most common sizes you can expect to find:

8 to 10 foot

A trampoline between 8 and 10 feet in size is better designed for smaller gardens as it doesn’t take up much space but still provides ample jumping space. However, a smaller size comes with a smaller weight limit, and it might mean that you can only have one child bouncing at a time. If you have more than one child, it might be a good idea to get a bigger model to stop any squabbles at playtime!

12 foot

A 12-foot trampoline is considered a medium-sized model and is generally the most common size for most families. You might be able to get two little ones on this size of trampoline at a time, but teens and adults are usually limited to one at a time. Make sure you check the weight limit before using a 12-foot trampoline.

14+ foot

If you have the space, you can’t go wrong with a 14-footer. This trampoline size offers much more flexibility in play, giving several children enough space to bounce at the same time. It might come with a higher price point, but can you really put a price on children’s happiness?

What are the most common rectangle trampoline sizes?

While round trampolines are often the most common shape on the market, some gardens simply work better with rectangle trampolines. Plus, they can give more jumping space – win-win! Here are the most common rectangle trampoline sizes on the market:

7 x 10 foot

A 7 x 10 trampoline is small and modest, but it’s still a great size to fit within all of your other garden toys. It’s a compact size and shape to slot between a shed and a swingset, so if you’re looking for a trampoline that won’t upstage your other garden equipment, it’s a good option. However, the weight limit will most likely only accommodate one child.

8 x 12 foot

This size of trampoline is a good option for kids and younger teens – especially if they’re budding gymnastics enthusiasts! A 12 x 10-foot trampoline usually has better bounce than a 12-foot round trampoline, so if you’re looking for a serious option to practice routines, this is a great option.

9 x 14 foot

The mighty 9 x 14-foot trampoline is excellent for flips and tricks, and it’s a wonderful option if you want to give your child an option for advanced trampolining. Make sure you check the weight limit, but most of these trampolines will allow two children to bounce together safely, so they can also have lots of fun with their friends.

What about personal trampoline sizes?

Personal trampolines, otherwise known as fitness trampolines, are typically available in 39 to 44-inch diameters. You might be able to find smaller models for kids, and these can be used indoors or outdoors. They don’t come with safety netting and are much closer to the ground, so they’re best for working out or practice jumping. They can be a good first step for kids to practice before you invest in a bigger alternative. However, personal trampolines can’t replace the amount of fun a bigger model offers!
