Not forgetting the one sign that makes all the lack of sleep, rushing around and dealing with bodily fluids worthwhile – you know what it’s like to have your heart walking around outside your body. And when you speak about your kids, under your tiredness, anyone can see the pride and love shining in your eyes : the ultimate sign of a mum.

Your list brings back memories. Mine have grown up and left home and I miss them so much. I would happily give up some of my sleep time, lie ins and tidy house to just have a few days with them. (Wait till yours grow up..you will also wish for them back!!) . FYI- I still carry tissues, wet wipes, sewing kit, paracetamol and vaseline in my hand bag just in case someone might need them!!
