With World Book Day coming up (March 3rd), I thought I would put together a few reading themed posters and this “Today is a great day to read a book” printable poster is my first attempt.
I’m pretty pleased with how it came out, and it will look great hanging up in your reading corner or nook, library, or in a child’s bedroom or playroom.
Every day is a great day to read, but there is something lovely about snuggling up with a book on a rainy day, whether you are enjoying read alouds together with your child, exploring picture books with your toddler, or an older child is enjoying a chapter book independently.
Quotes about reading on a rainy day
“The person who deserves most pity is a lonesome one on a rainy day who doesn’t know how to read.”
― Benjamin Franklin
“Rainy days should be spent at home with a cup of tea and a good book.”
― Bill Watterson, The Calvin and Hobbes Tenth Anniversary Book
“One rainy Sunday when I was in the third grade, I picked up a book to look at the pictures and discovered that even though I did not want to, I was reading. I have been a reader ever since.”
― Beverly Cleary

Look out for more soon, as I mentioned – I’m planning to make a few different styles.

Every day come rain or shine is a good day to read a book here. We may not like dressing up but my son will always enjoy being read to thankfully.
Oooh, I love this! I’m going to share it on Twitter now 🙂
thanks!
