What You’ll Need For the Shamrock Yarn Craft

- Cardstock
- Green yarn
- Green paper for the stem
- Scissors
- Glue
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Prep the Base: Print out the free printable shamrock templates below
- Cut and Shape: If your little ones are old enough, let them practice their fine motor skills by cutting out the shamrock stencil templates. Trace onto cardstock for a more durable shamrock craft. For younger kids, you can do this step for them.
- Yarn Away: Apply glue generously within the outline of the shamrock cut-outs. Now, here’s where the fun begins! Have the kids snip up the yarn and cover the shamrock with green yarn, looping and pressing down as they go to cover the entire shape.
- Stem Time: Using green construction paper, cut out a stem. If you need a guide, use the template, or a straight edge or a ruler to draw a line before cutting.
- Assemble: Attach the stem to the back of your yarn-covered shamrock, and voila! You’ve got yourself a festive decoration.
