The Story of Rapunzel

Rapunzel is a classic fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm. It tells the story of a young girl with magical golden hair who is taken away as a baby by a powerful enchantress after her parents break a promise. The enchantress locks Rapunzel in a tall tower deep in the forest with no door, visiting only by calling, “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair,” so she can climb the girl’s incredibly long braid.

One day, a prince discovers the tower and hears Rapunzel singing. He watches the enchantress enter, then copies her words to climb the tower himself. The two fall in love and dream of escaping together. When the enchantress discovers their plan, she cuts off Rapunzel’s long hair and banishes her. After many hardships, Rapunzel and the prince are eventually reunited, and they live happily ever after, making it one of the world’s most beloved fairy tales.
