With only a few weeks until Christmas, it’s time to start getting prepared if you haven’t already, and to get the kids busy writing up some Christmas lists if you are in need of ideas for the toys to make them most happy to make them most happy under the Christmas tree this year.

If you do need more ideas and inspiration, there are plenty of top toy lists available at this time of year, to give you an idea of the toys set to be best sellers. Last week, I went along to Dream Toys to find out the top 12 toys revealed for this year, and stores like Very have put together their own lists too.

Some of the major trends this year are licensed toys, with Frozen 2 toys set to be hugely popular. I know these are top of the list with my little girl at the moment, particularly the singing Anna and Elsa dolls. She is already singing the new Into the Unknown song from Frozen 2, and the movie isn’t even out yet! I’m sure this is the same in many houses up and down the country so if your little one is excited for Frozen you definitely can’t go wrong with one of these dolls.

Another huge trend at the moment is surprise toys. This is something my boys have loved over the years, and that my little girl is just starting to get into. LOL Dolls are one of the most popular in the surprise toys category, along with Hatchimals. A new release in the surprise toys category are Blume Dolls, which also made the top 12 Dream Toys list this year. We have been enjoying these, and I’m sure they will go down well with kids this Christmas.

LEGO is a timeless classic that is sure to be a hit every year, along with board games. These are both brilliant for good old fashioned fun together with the family, and are really relaxing over the holiday season. This year, LEGO has some great Harry Potter sets out and again there are some brilliant Frozen sets, along with other Disney and Marvel sets. We also love the look of some of the Christmassy themed LEGO sets that you can get such as the gingerbread houses.

Some of the fun board games you could choose this year include Pictionary Air, Harry Potter Cluedo, or classics like Scrabble.

What toys are top of your children’s wish lists this year?
