If your kids love the Isadora Moon series of books as much as we do, this tiny book craft is going to be an absolute hit. We have been big fans of Isadora Moon books for years in our house. My daughter first read them when she was 5 and now at age 9 she still enjoys them, which really says a lot about how special this book series is.
They are popular for a good reason, and I always recommend this series, along with the Mirabell series and Emerald series also by Harriet Muncaster, to parents wanting to get their young kids excited about reading.

Why We Love the Isadora Moon Series
The Isadora Moon series is one of those rare book series that feels truly special. Isadora is half fairy, half vampire, and that magical combination makes the stories feel totally unique and fun for kids. Harriet Muncaster has created such a lovely moon series with gentle magic, friendship themes, and characters that children instantly connect with.

Whether your child has read Isadora Moon goes to school, Isadora Moon gets into trouble, or other books from the Isadora Moon collection, this craft is a sweet way to extend the experience beyond just reading.
The loveable quirky characters, the vampire-fairy and fairy-witch hybrid characters, the sweet illustrations by Harriet Muncaster, and the totally unique style make these stories feel like modern classics for kids.

This adorable craft lets you turn the printable into real mini books featuring Isadora Moon characters, and they are the cutest little keepsakes. They are perfect for World Book Day, book week, or just a cozy afternoon craft inspired by a favorite read.
In fact this whole year has been declared a national year of reading, so book themed crafts like this are definitely going to be popular all year long. It’s never a bad time to get kids excited about books.
Materials You’ll Need for your Mini Isadora Moon Book Craft
You don’t need anything fancy for this craft, which makes it perfect for a last minute activity.
You will need the free printable PDF, scissors, glue, and some thin card for the covers. A glue stick works best for neat edges, and thicker paper or cardstock will make the mini books more durable for little hands that want to read them again and again.
How to Make the Mini Isadora Moon Books
Start by printing the free printable on good quality paper so the details of the illustrations really stand out. The artwork featuring Isadora, bats, stars, and magical scenes makes the finished books look so special.

First, cut out the long page strips carefully from the printable. These strips form the inside pages of your mini book and include all the sweet Isadora Moon characters and scenes.
Next, fold the first starry page inwards along the grey line. This helps create the structure of the tiny book.
Then fold the next page the opposite way so the folds form a zig zag along the page strip. This zig zag folding is what gives the mini book its proper page shape and lets it open and close like a real book.
After that, glue the covers onto thin card and neatly cut them out. Using card for the covers makes the books feel more like real little Isadora Moon books and helps them last longer.
Once the covers are ready, fold them along the two pink lines on the spine so they wrap nicely around the pages.
Finally, glue the two blank sides of the starry end papers into the covers to secure everything together. This step brings the whole mini book together and makes it look polished and professional.
You’ll end up with one book for you and one to share with a friend, which is such a lovely touch and very in the spirit of the Isadora Moon books and their kind, magical themes
