Hatching Easter Chick Template

This cute easter template captures the enchanting moment of an Easter chick popping out from its egg. The outline shape shows the wings mid-flap as it makes its grand entrance into the world, with an easter egg shape at the bottom of the chick.

The simplicity of this template makes it perfect for children to unleash their creativity, adding vibrant colors, patterns, or even glitter to bring their hatching Easter chick to life. It’s a wonderful activity to engage in the festive spirit of Easter and springtime.

Easter Chick Crafts Using the Templates

There are so many ways to use these templates to create adorable Easter crafts! Here are a few great ideas to get you started with your next easy easter craft. Most of these ideas can be used for the hatching egg template or for the basic easter chick template – whichever you prefer.

Classic Easter Cards

Use the chick templates to create colorful Easter cards. Kids can color the chicks in with crayons, markers, or paints. You can also add other Easter decorations to the cards, such as Easter eggs, bunnies, and flowers.

Washi Tape Chicks

Use colorful washi tape to decorate the pre-cut chick shapes. This is a great way for kids to practice their fine motor skills and creativity.

Paper Plate Chick Craft

Glue a chick template onto a yellow paper plate and decorate it with construction paper feathers, googly eyes, a beak, and feet. This works really well if you fold the paper plate in half, and then have half of the template popping up, especially for the hatching chick template.

Chick Basket Craft

Cut a basket shape out of construction paper and glue the chick template on top. Fill the basket with Easter grass or jellybeans.

Fork Painting Chicks

Use forks to create a unique and textured look for the Easter chick’s feathers. Have the kids dip forks into yellow paint and press onto the chick template to create feather-like patterns. This easy craft is so much fun.

Easter Chick Suncatcher

Create a suncatcher by cutting out the chick shape from the template and then using it as a stencil on adhesive paper. Kids can then stick colored tissue paper on the adhesive paper in the shape of the chick and hang it in a window to catch the light.

Pom Pom Painting

Attach a small pom pom to a clothespin to serve as a DIY paintbrush. Kids can dip the pom pom into paint and dot it on the chick template to fill it in with color, creating a dappled, textured effect.

Coloring Page Activity

Simply use the chick templates as free printable easter chick coloring pages. Provide crayons, colored pencils, and markers with lots of different color options for children to color their chicks. This can be a calming activity and allows for individual creativity.

Eggshell Mosaic

For the hatching chick template, after coloring the chick’s body, glue pieces of broken eggshells onto the egg part of the template. This fun easter craft is a great way to recycle eggshells and create a mosaic effect.

Feathery Chicks

Add some realism to the free template chick by gluing on real or craft feathers to the body of the chick, giving it a fluffy three-dimensional look.

Chick Garland

Color and decorate multiple chick templates, then punch holes in them and string them together to create a cheerful Easter chick garland.

Magnetic Fridge Art: After decorating, laminate the chicks or cover them with contact paper and stick a magnet on the back. Kids can hang their artwork on the fridge or any magnetic surface.

Chick Puppets

Glue a popsicle stick to the back of a decorated chick template to create a simple puppet. Kids can use these to put on a puppet show.

Layered Paper Chicks

Cut out the chick shapes from different colors of construction paper. Glue the layers together with a slight offset to create a layered, feathered look.

Texture Collage Chicks

Invite kids to search for different textures around the house or outdoors (like fabric, leaves, sandpaper) to glue onto the chick template and explore sensory play.

Using these templates can offer hours of creative enjoyment and provide a festive touch to any Easter celebration. Enjoy crafting!
