Child-Safe Cordless Roller Blinds Review & Giveaway

Blind cords can be a safety worry in children’s bedrooms. We have previously used roller blinds with the cord contained in a safety mechanism at the side but thanks to we have replaced the children’s blinds with cordless spring loaded roller blinds which is an ideal solution to remove the risk.

Order Blinds are also offering one lucky In The Playroom reader the chance to win a £50 voucher to spend on this range, so be sure to enter at the end of this post.

This range of blinds is designed especially for children and comes in a range of colours to match the décor, plus some fun prints like cars and elephants. I went for peacock for Z’s room and a light blue shade for T and R’s room, although I was tempted by some of the prints.

The blinds are spring-loaded, thermal (so good for your energy bill!) and are all blackout blinds for a completely dark room, ideal for little ones who still nap during the day.

The blind comes made to measure to the required size, which makes them a lot easier to fit. Our previous blinds were bought to standard sizes and had to be cut to fit at home, so we much preferred this option.

The up and down mechanism is operated by a small pull cord in the middle of the blind, with a variety of decorative options available. We went for the simple wooden acorn like this:

  1. I’d love to win the Blackout sky Blue blind for my gorgeous grandsons room – am sure their mummy and daddy would love it too – less early mornings.

Thanks for the chance to win x

  2. With a 4 month old I have been looking at blinds and this looks and sounds fantastic. Her nursery started off as a neutral teddy bear scheme but is slowly becoming a room suitable for Snow White as the birds look down from her doorways.

  3. i’d get a blackout blind for my daughters room – not sure what colour yet tho as we will soon redo the room for her.

  4. Amethyst Blackout Thermal Made To Measure Roller Blind for our bedroom as have just bought new curtains but don’t keep much light out even though lined…..would put the blind behind the curtains and this colour just ‘cos like it
