Another brilliant toy that the boys have been trying out as part of their role as Bigjigs Play Patrol Agents is the Bigjigs Container Shipping Yard. This is a Bigjigs road and rail link item which is great to extend their imaginary play with their Bigjigs roadway set, and their huge collection of wooden railway!
As with the other Bigjigs roadway and rail items in our collection, this appealed to all three boys and they were able to play all together with it, incorporating it into a wider track.
The container shipping yard includes a working wooden crane with a magnetic pully, a truck, a flatbed and a ship, with two wooden loads which can be carried on any of these three. All of the pieces are nice and bright, and made of good quality wood. Here’s the truck, carrying a Bigjigs load!
The boys love the container shipping yard, especially the inclusion of the little ship which added some great variety. They have been having lots of fun delivering containers via road, and rail, and water! They set up some of the little houses from their roadway set so that the residents could get lots and lots of parcels. It’s all great for their imagination and story telling skills. I love to see the ideas that they can come up with together!
The little crane is easy enough to work and all three boys were able to operate this with no problem. It works by turning the red circles on the side to wind the string up and down, and the whole crane can be moved from side to side too to assist with picking up loads.
The Bigjigs container shipping yard is available from Bigjigs online shop for £14.49 which seems very reasonable for another great addition to your wooden road and rail fun!

i love the look of the crane part of this set, my first child was obsessed with cranes and would have loved this, i wonder if bump will like them too when he or she is old enough to appreciate them? x
we had a Thomas railway the boys loved to play with it but of course did not like putting it away.
That looks like a great addition to a wooden railway! My daughter will often play with her big brothers wooden tracks and trains now.
