Post Submissions

Thanks for your interest in contributing! Here at In The Playroom we are always happy to accept relevant guest post contributions from other bloggers or parents.

You can submit a one-off guest post to us, or work with us on a longer term basis as a monthly contributor, or guest reviewer.

How to submit

Submit all posts and images via email to anna@marikar.net.

Who are we looking for?

If you’re a blogger who writes about kids activities, play, children’s craft, education or parenting then we would love to hear from you. If you’re a parent or child care professional who does not have your own blog but would like to share crafts or play ideas then we would love to feature you too!

Guest post submissions are for genuine bloggers or parents. If you’re a brand looking to advertise, email on luciana@intheplayroom.co.uk to request our media pack instead.

Guest Post Guidelines

We accept guest posts in the project, article or round up categories.  We’re also looking for posts sharing pictures of your child’s playroom or play space for a series on play areas.

You may include an author bio with back link to your own blog, and may link out to other posts on your site where relevant. You may not include affiliate links within the post, or links to 3rd party commercial sites.

Preference will be given to original content, and not reproduced on your own site or submitted elsewhere. Syndicated content accepted in exceptional cases only.

Project Submissions (Posts with images)

Project submissions include crafts, recipes or play ideas and are submitted with images to support the post. These should be a minimum of 200 words (Ideally 300+ words). Photos should be submitted without overlayed text, and may be edited by In The Playroom before publication to create a Pinterest image with text, or a collage.

Images should be at least 600 pixels wide, and ideally taken with natural light (or with an external flash). At least one portrait and one square or landscape image is required, and any extras are welcomed too (such as in process shots for crafts or recipes)

Article Submissions

Article guest posts are longer and you do not need to supply images for these, as we can supply them. We accept articles on the following topics:

  • Parenting tips
  • Personal parenting stories, or heartfelt moments
  • Special needs parenting
  • Children’s health
  • Child development
  • Education

Articles may be lightly edited for clarity or style.

Round Up Submissions

These are list posts on a specific topic. Please only submit links from sites that have given permission for images to be used, and include a variety of links (i.e not all links from only 2 or 3 sites)

We accept round ups for kids crafts, play ideas, life hacks, or recipes. The more specific your list the better.

Lists submitted must be a minimum of 10 links on the same topic (max 75), plus an intro of 100-150 words.

We will create the collage, so there’s no need to submit any images for these.

Playrooms and Play Spaces

We would love to feature playrooms and play spaces from our readers. Images of the room or space are required for these (indoor or outdoor spaces are both welcome!) and just a paragraph or two about the space and how you organise it, how you put it together, how you use it, or whatever you would like to share.

Benefits to Bloggers

Guest posts will come with an author bio, linking back to your site. Please note: This is for genuine bloggers. If you’re an SEO agency, business, or a freelancer without a website we may not be able to approve your links and content.

In The Playroom is one of the highest ranking and high traffic blogs in the UK. (Currently ranking #8 in Tots100 and with over 250,000 page views per month). Guest posting will allow you to get in front of a new audience, and get a strong backlink to your site from a well established site with a high domain authority.

Guest posts will be shared across our social media, including being pinned to our Pinterest boards of over 324,000 followers. We always try to build up a good relationship with contributors too and pin and share some of their original content from their own blogs too, wherever possible.

If you’re an author or blogger with a new print book or e-book on kids activities or parenting topics, you are welcome to promote these via a guest post on our site.
