Instructions

  1. Start With Your Snow Globe Image
First, save one of our snow globe photos to your device. We’ve got adorable options:
Santa holding an empty snow globe
Mrs. Claus with an empty snow globe
Elf on the Shelf posing with a snow globe
A snow globe on a windowsill or out in a snowy scene
Choose your favorite and save it to your iPhone.
  2. Select Your Figure or Object
Now choose the photo you want to add inside the snow globe. It could be your kids, your pet, a festive family picture, or even a selfie.
  3. Open the photo, press and hold on the subject (like a person or pet), and let your iPhone work its magic. An outline will appear, and a small pop-up will give you the option to Add Sticker. Tap that – this saves your subject as a reusable sticker.
  4. Add Your Sticker to the Snow Globe
Open the snow globe photo you saved earlier. Tap Edit and then look for the pen icon (it’s at the top).
  5. From there, tap the plus sign (+) which is at the bottom right of the screen and choose Add Sticker. You’ll see the sticker of your saved figure pop up.
  6. Resize and Adjust - Once your sticker is added, you can pinch it with two fingers to resize and move it around. Place it neatly inside the snow globe so it looks picture-perfect. Play around until it’s just the right size.
  7. I like to add a filter to the whole image after this, to help the sticker and the background blend better, but this is optional.
  8. Save and Share Your Masterpiece - That’s it! Once you’re happy with how your snow globe looks, save the photo and share it with friends or family. It’s such a fun and festive surprise, and kids especially will love seeing themselves or their pets in a magical snow globe.

Get Creative! There are so many ways you can use this fun hack. Whether you’re creating a Santa Snow Globe featuring your little ones, a cozy Mrs. Claus snow globe with a family photo, an Elf snow globe with a silly selfie or a snowy window scene featuring your pet or favorite holiday memory – the possibilities are endless, and it’s a quick way to add a festive touch to your photos this season.

You can add multiple people to the snow globe by repeating the step of adding the sticker twice, so if you want to add two or three kids together into the snow globe for example, then you can do that.

Which Photos Work Best for Your Stickers?

When choosing a photo to turn into a sticker for your snow globe, a full-length picture works best. Ideally, you want a clear image where the subject can be easily outlined and cut out. Whether the person is standing up or sitting down, the key is to have as little of the body cut off as possible.

We had great results using full-length standing pictures and even one of the kids sitting on a sleigh. Some of our favorites came from a recent snow day, where the kids were playing outside in the snow – those action shots added so much personality to the snow globe edits!

You can also use pets, it doesn’t have to be people. Just have a play around and see what you can come up.
