We’ve joined together with the Blogger Board Game Club and Asmodee UK to test out three fun family games. The first I’m sharing with you is Cobra Paw, a quick paced tile snatching game that is really simple and easy to grasp so you can get playing straight away or fit in a game when you only have a short time to spare.
Ninja-like reflexes, sharp recognition skills and mental fortitude steals the game in this new tile- snatching challenge! Players take turns rolling the dice (featuring 6 unique symbols), spotting the tile with the matching pattern, then grabbing it before their opponents. The first player to snatch up 6 tiles wins
This game is really appealing in the way it’s designed. Each of the pieces feel brilliant quality and are pleasingly smooth so they are very tactile, and it’s lovely to play.
The tiles are a bit like Mah Jong tiles, each with a pattern or symbol on both sides. To play, you roll both dice, and then have to quickly spot the tile which has both of the patterns shown on the dice. As you keep playing, you will soon get very quick in picking these out!
The game is recommended for age 5+, and was a hit with my 7 and 8 year old boys. I also enjoyed it myself, so I would say it is a great quick game for all ages. It is a simple concept, so slightly younger children with a good attention span should manage well with it too.
The game can be played in just five or ten minutes, although of course you can make it longer by playing more rounds. It also has a small box, so is a handy one for taking away on trips if you like to bring games when going away – I normally like to bring some if staying on a caravan holiday, just in case of wet weather or for some down time, and this would be ideal for such occasions.
Cobra Paw can be played with 2-6 players, and is available for RRP £14.99
