If you’ve recently become a parent, or are about to bring a new life into the world you’re likely to feel a rush of responsibility alongside that overwhelming love and instinct to protect your child. As parents, we want to provide the best for our little ones, keep them safe and well and give them all that they need throughout life.

While planning the practical and imminently needed supplies like the stock of nappies, the cute little babygrows, and somewhere for the baby to sleep it’s important to look towards the future and make sure you have provisions in place to support your child as your family continues its journey.

How to get free life insurance if you're a new parent : handy tip when preparing for baby

To help you prepare for all eventualities, Legal & General are offering you £10,000 of free life cover for 12 months. This is completely free without any need to make a purchase or tie yourself into any contract, and can be applied for by both parents. So each policy would pay out £10,000 if the person insured died before the end of the policy. Hopefully, you would never need this but it’s worth the peace of mind to have it in place just in case your family is affected by tragedy.

You can apply for New Parent Free Life Cover if:
  • You’re a new parent aged 18 up to and including 45 years of age.
  • You’re named on your child’s birth certificate, full adoption certificate, final residence order or special guardianship order.
  • You’re a UK resident.
  • You haven’t taken out life insurance with L&G within the last five years.

Find out more about this offer and how to apply here on the Legal & General website
