In this free printable Valentine’s day I-spy, children will need to find and count:

  • February 14th Calendar
  • I love you, with a heart
  • Heart shaped lollipop candy
  • Key to my heart, heart shaped padlock
  • Love letter envelope for a Valentine’s Day card
  • Valentines gift with a bow

  • Cupid’s arrows

How do kids benefit from I-Spy pages?

I spy pages are great for building kids visual skills, helping them to concentrate and look closely. Building visual discrimination skills contributes towards your child’s literacy, in fact strong visual discrimination skills are directly linked with reading fluently.

When your little one learns to read, there are lots of letters that look pretty similar like b, d, p and q.. so having these strong visual discrimination skills to spot small details, or spot small differences, gives their little brains useful training that will come in handy.

Coloring is also a great way to build up fine motor skills in their hands which will come in useful when it’s time to write.

Counting all of the objects and the number of items also helps with numeracy, and early math skills.

But the best part is, it’s a lot of fun! Kids will enjoy these activities and keep busy with no idea that they are building up developmental skills to help their education in the future.

Why not use this free printable game for your classroom party for your Valentine’s Day celebration? When playing in large groups, it’s fun to set a timer challenge and see who can find all of the Valentines pictures the fastest.

I Spy pages are brilliant for preschoolers and young school aged children for all of the reasons we just talked about, but they are a lot of fun for kids of all ages.
