Fun to Learn Friends Art magazine is a creative magazine offering a great variety of screen free activities for young children, including many of their favourite characters. These activities can be done independently, or together with family depending on your child’s age and level.

Each issue is 36 pages long, and is themed around a topic. Each issue of the magazine includes inspirational ideas to make, design, colour and draw, along with lots of interactive stickers, and a 4 page cut-out card activity. You also get a cover mount gift each time, which is a craft kit with all the necessary parts to make a wonderful themed creation that is explored and explained within the magazine.

We were sent a copy of the magazine to try out, and N has really enjoyed exploring the pages with me, and especially loved the craft set gift which she wanted to get into straight away!

N is 18 months old, so she’s definitely at the younger end of children who will get something out of the magazine, and some activities would be too tricky for her (recommended for 3+) but even at a young age there was a lot she could explore and enjoy in the magazine, from colouring pages to stickers – which she absolutely loves, to looking at the pictures and pointing to different things or familiar characters.

The craft set gift was great for open ended creativity for N. There’s a page inside giving you ideas of how to use the pieces and what to make, but I found that N would stick pieces on, and then pull them off and put them back on differently, and she kept herself busy with it for quite some time – particularly with the sparkly fish, sparkly star and all of the googley eyes!

She also really enjoyed putting the stickers on to the various pages of the magazine. As she finds stickers very exciting, I noticed that doing this really helps her to build up her concentration span and sit for longer in an activity as it keeps her engaged – which is great! It’s also good for fine motor skills so I’m very happy to encourage her in doing these things.

The stickers feature some familiar TV characters like Ben and Holly, and some which are just tied into the theme of this issue which was the sea.

There was also a pull out Peppa Pig cardboard craft to make in this issue, which is a 3D boat that you can make.

I also liked the look of the sea turtle weaving activity, and the treasure chest, which we are still yet to make.

If you complete every activity in the magazine, you will have hours of creative fun with your child, and you can make each issue last until the next one is out the following month meaning that you’ll never be short of creative fun ideas to do together!

Fun to Learn Art is taking over UKMums.tv now! Until 30th July there will be loads of free downloads and competitions that you can take part in, so be sure to pop over and have a look!
