Who doesn’t love cookies? Warm, gooey, melty chocolate chip cookies a definite favorite in our house. My oldest daughter makes them every week.

Because of that my 4 year old has developed a love for those sweet cookies. I do kind of love that she gets distracted after the first couple bites and leaves most of her cookies behind (thus, less of a sugar rush…)

These counting cookie games are perfect for cookie-loving preschoolers! Kids will love practicing their numbers with these free printable activities!

Materials needed for the Counting Cookie Games:

  • Paper
  • Scrapbooking paper or card stock
  • Laminating Pouches
  • Laminator
  • Scissors
  • Clothespins

What is included in the Counting Cookies Pack?

Cookie Number Matching Game

To Prep: Print on the white side of scrapbook paper and laminate. The scrapbook paper makes it so that the kids can’t see through the cards to cheat. If you don’t have scrapbooking paper, white card stock will work, but you may need to put a sticker on the back to block the pictures from peaking through. Cut out the cards.

To Play: Place the cards face-down on the table. The first player turns over two cards to find a match. If a match is found they try again, if a match is not found it’s the next player’s turn. Winner has the most matches at the end of the game.

You can also use these cards as an independent matching activity.

Or you can work on number order by creating a number line with them. As your child’s skills improve, you can make the number line and while he has his eyes closed, remove 1-3 of the numbers. Let your child open his eyes and figure out which numbers are missing.

Counting Cookies Clothespin Cards

To Prep: Print, laminate and cut apart the cards.

To use: Have your child attach a clothespin (or paper clip) to the number at the bottom of the card which corresponds with the number of cookies shown on the card.
