After watching Disney Pixar’s Inside Out, you can’t fail to have a soft spot for Riley’s imaginary friend Bing Bong. This now forgotten imaginary creature is part elephant, part cotton candy, part kitten, part dolphin and 100% loveable!
My boys took a liking to him during the movie, so we were happy to try out the Inside Out ‘I Cry Candy’ Bing Bong soft toy from Tomy.
This plush Bong Bong is large and soft – great for cuddling. When you press his middle he starts to say catch phrases from the movie, including singing the iconic Bing Bong song
“Who’s your friend who likes to play? Bing Bong Bing Bong..”
He also says phrases like “I cry Candy!” and ” I’m part cat, part elephant, part dolphin” – with six phrases and songs in total.
We also noticed that if you switch the switch on his battery to SFX, you get extra slightly different sounds which are more like crying sound effects and basic sounds, rather than phrases.
When you squeeze Bing Bong’s belly, you also see small candy sequins float up into his eyes and move around – which is a pretty cool effect and fun to watch.
Fans of Bing Bong will love this soft toy. He makes a great teddy for bedtime, or for any time that your little one wants to snuggle up with a furry friend. He is made from a really nice soft material, and also has the coat and waistcoat that he wears in the movie. The middle part of Bing Bong is ruffled up, to indicate the cotton candy that he’s made of in the movie – which is a clever way of making the toy so that it’s still very soft.
You can collect talking plush toys of all of the other main characters of Inside Out, which are also available from Tomy: Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, and Anger.
Bing Bong comes with the batteries already inside, and is easy to get out of the box, which is always a plus for me. Bing Bong is available for around 27.99 RRP – Click here to see more on Amazon
