Thomas & Friends have a new DVD coming out tomorrow! It’s a feature length movie, which is always our favourite type of Thomas DVD.
Sodor’s Legend of the Lost Treasure tells of a pirate ship being discovered in Sodor, followed by a hunt for it’s treasure. We meet new characters Sailor John and his boat-on-wheels Skiff, who Thomas later finds out may not be what they initially seem!
We first saw this movie at the Leicester Square premier (read our initial review via that post) and my younger boys were keen to watch it again on DVD. They enjoyed the action and suspense of this Thomas movie, with Thomas’ race to track down Sailor John and put things right. They also enjoy the catchy songs within the movie.
In addition to the new characters, this movie is a fun tale with all of the favourite and familiar engines. It shows Thomas learning from his mistakes and bringing a positive message to the story – as we’ve come to expect from Thomas and Friends.
Any young Thomas fan would enjoy this DVD, and it’s likely to be watched over and over again!
At 65 minutes running time, it’s an ideal length to introduce toddlers to movies for the first time, and will best suit children from around 2-5 years old.

This looks a great DVD the graphics on the cover even look great! I can see myself having to buy it for my friend’s little boy for Christmas, he loves Thomas!
My toddler loved this movie and was his first cinema experience. He was a bit awe struck I think. Will definitely get the DVD to go with dozens of others we’ve got!
