Blind cords can be a safety worry in children’s bedrooms. We have previously used roller blinds with the cord contained in a safety mechanism at the side but thanks to OrderBlinds.co.uk we have replaced the children’s blinds with cordless spring loaded roller blinds which is an ideal solution to remove the risk.
Order Blinds are also offering one lucky In The Playroom reader the chance to win a £50 voucher to spend on this range, so be sure to enter at the end of this post.
This range of blinds is designed especially for children and comes in a range of colours to match the décor, plus some fun prints like cars and elephants. I went for peacock for Z’s room and a light blue shade for T and R’s room, although I was tempted by some of the prints.
The blinds are spring-loaded, thermal (so good for your energy bill!) and are all blackout blinds for a completely dark room, ideal for little ones who still nap during the day.
The blind comes made to measure to the required size, which makes them a lot easier to fit. Our previous blinds were bought to standard sizes and had to be cut to fit at home, so we much preferred this option.
The up and down mechanism is operated by a small pull cord in the middle of the blind, with a variety of decorative options available. We went for the simple wooden acorn like this:
Our new blinds look great in the boys’ rooms and it’s always good to have the added peace of mind of a safer option!
