I’ve written before about how we love our family nights in. Taking time to enjoy each other’s company and relax together is something that’s really important for our family. During the week we get together over home cooked meals but at the weekend, we sometimes have a pizza night and that is always more exciting for the kids. This weekend we tried out a delivery from our local Dominos Pizza branch.

Dominos have a good selection on the menu so are a great choice for family night in. Also, chicken on Dominos pizzas is halal which is a positive for my husband since he usually prefers to have meat. You can customise the pizzas by adding or removing certain ingredients and choosing your preferred base to make sure it’s exactly to your liking.

For this one we went for double decadence pizza base, but for some reason, the base layer was not done properly and it didn’t have the sauce inside the base at all. We used to use Dominos quite often when we lived across the road from one of their branches, and never had this issue so I think it must have been a one-off and it was the only thing I would fault with this delivery, everything else was great.
For the kids, we went for their standard cheese and tomato pizza. They are creatures of habit! I can’t blame them though, the cheese and tomato pizza is always good.
We also got some sides, since Dominos have a great selection. The dough balls are fab, and quite unique – not something that you see at every other pizza take away.
Potato wedges are also a must for my kids. They love them!
We used a deal on the dominos website to get the best value for our pizzas, but in addition to that when spending over a set amount you would be able to get a free ice cream tub. These deals may vary from location to location, but there is normally a selection of offers available on the Dominos site so it’s worth taking a look before you order. Ice cream wasn’t available at our branch so we had the option to get cookies instead.
Family Pizza Night Game Ideas
To make a family pizza night fun, it’s always nice to include a few games. We were sent this Dr Seuss themed card game (See on Amazon UK / US) which is great fun and there are lots of game ideas you can improvise with things around your house too.
