Have you heard of Poki? They have a huge range of online games, which you can play via your computer, laptop or tablet.

I was interested in checking out some of their educational games with the kids as they love all kinds of games, and it’s always great to find something new – especially if they can learn as they play!

The website is very easy to browse and all of my kids were able to choose and play the games they wanted easily.

The favourite game that they found is Speed Miner 2 which is a typing game. You can see it on the screen above. It’s quite a manageable one even for my youngest, who’s five years old. They have to quickly react to the arrows and type the correct directions in, and they even get to explode TNT during the game too! The boys said they really liked the look of the character in this one, and they enjoyed taking notes of their scores to see who could perform the best!

Another typing game which they enjoyed was Type for Gold, which you can see T playing above. In this game, kids have to correctly type the words they’re given so it helps with mastering quick typing an also practicing spelling and basic reading.

They also enjoyed some of the logic and quick thinking games like Tingly Brain Trainer, and there are loads more available on the site too – from maths games to geography games and more.

All of the games are free to play and you don’t need to create a login or profile or anything – you simply visit Poki.com and get playing straight away, so it couldn’t be any easier!

  5. I think any of the cooking games are the best, although a bit of a shame that they’re all targeted at girls because that puts the boys off and lose out on learning to cook… 🙁 but still fun games!
