Disney Star Darlings are a new range of fashion dolls from Jakks Pacific. Based on the characters from the Disney Star Darlings animation, the dolls come from the magical musical world of Starland and each one is really lovely with loads of detail, glitter, colourful hair and their own musical instruments.

The Disney Star Darlings dolls range includes Sage, Leona, Scarlet, Libby and Vega. We were sent three of the dolls – Libby, Sage and Scarlet – to see what we thought, and one lucky In The Playroom reader will get the chance to win a set of three for their own family too, so don’t forget to enter at the end of this post!

Each of the Star Darlings dolls has their own personality and unique look. I really like how funky and different the outfits are, and how they all have their own style even down to the different types of shoes and accessories that each one has.

The facial features of all of the dolls is quite cute, with big eyes and star details. The sweet and pink Star Darling below is Libby.

Some of the Star Darlings are more rocky, like Sage (below) with her black jacket, stripy leggings and boots so there’s one to suit every child’s preference, and even though they’re all different they all mesh together really well to form their band too.

The third of the three dolls we were sent is Sage, with her detachable star necklace:

Each of the dolls is 11 inches tall and fully posable, including the hands, so they can hold their instruments and can easily sit down or stand up.

  8. They are so bright and colourful and identical to their cartoon alter-egos which I guess isn’t that suprising as most toons nowadays are created with merchandising in mind? 😉

  12. I love their bright colours, funky hair and makeup and their rock chick clothes. I also love that they play musical instruments as it is a talking point and something new for your child to learn or encourage them to be musical and not just listen to music.

  14. These look awesome! I wish something like this had been around when I was younger, but alas, the young girls in my life would benefit should I be lucky enough to win this prize. Their colourful hair and outfits are definitely something I would’ve loved to have as an inspiration when I was younger.

  16. This is such a lovely range of dolls. I love the fact that the dolls are all very individual and unique and show girls that it’s great and perfectly normal to be different. This is very much in contrast to many of the children’s dolls on the market.

  17. They look pretty cool and a little bit quirky – just like our guitar-playing 7 year old girlie who would no doubt describe them as EPIC!!! I don’t suppose it’ll be long before she’s colouring her hair every colour of the rainbow! 🙂
