Have you heard of Up at the O2? It’s is a thrilling 90 minute experience that allows you to walk over the iconic roof of The O2, via a suspended walkway.

If you’re looking for things to do in London, or a gift or an experience to do together with your adventure loving friends or family then this would be something really unique and memorable to try out for some outdoor fun.

My husband is quite adventurous and I’m sure he would love to experience this, and conquer the summit of London! If you’re looking for things to do in half term for older kids, or for unusual things to do as a couple then this experience could go down a treat.

Up at The O2 is 52m at its highest point, and at the summit, there is an observation platform where you can take in spectacular views of London. There is no lift, no escalator – this is a view you have to work for!

This is an experience that takes you out of your comfort zone and pits you against the elements. It’s more akin to climbing a mountain – that’s why it could be referred to as ‘Urban Mountaineering’, but once you’ve achieved it and reached the top it must be a really great feeling.

The O2 is an important London landmark, having played host to some of biggest names the music, arts and sporting scene. The roof of The O2 in particular is such an iconic part of London’s skyline, made of acres of fibreglass, miles of wires and thousands of rivets. It’s an icon to London’s arial identity, so to be on top of it is a really unique opportunity.

Before you climb The O2, you’ll meet your Climb Guide who’ll take you through everything you need to know and give you a climb suit, shoes and a safety harness. Climbing at different times of day would give you a different experience, from the twilight climb to the sunset climb, or an original climb during the day – any of these options would definitely be a really memorable and exhilarating experience.
