Global Parents Day is just around the corner on the 1st June. To mark the occasion, Serenata Flowers have offered a hamper for one lucky In The Playroom reader to win.

As any parent knows, raising children is not an easy job. You’re on call to your children 24 hours a day in case of illness or emergencies, and whatever you’re doing you’ll usually have a few worries in the back of your mind, to make sure that the kids are okay!

Once you become a parent yourself, it’s only then that you’ll really understand and appreciate the sacrifices and hard work that your own parents experienced when you were young yourself. Global Parents Day is a great opportunity to take the time to thank them, maybe with a gift.

  8. I have great memories of my mum. She taught me to enjoy life whatever the weather. None of this “we can’t go out because it’s raining” nonsense. I remember once when we were staying in a caravan on holiday and she said “let’s go for a walk down to the beach” even though it was teaming with rain. We just found a couple of carrier bags, put them on our heads and off we went! To this day I’m a real pluviophile 🙂

  15. I used to have so much fun with my Dad even though his job in the Army often kept him very busy, sometimes he would sneak me along to help maintain the trucks he looked after, or take me to the firing range or my absolute favourite…abseiling. He taught me that you could achieve whatever you set your mind to whether you were a boy or girl 🙂
