Colouring books for adults are a huge craze these days. Most of the colouring books I’ve tried have smaller intricate designs and patterns, but recently I tried out something different: Mills & Boon The Art of Romance colouring book. This book celebrates 100 years of the publisher’s most iconic covers and is really unique compared to a lot of the colouring books I’ve come across.
The pictures have larger blocks of space to colour, and are in a vintage style to match the designs of the books.
Next to each cover picture you also get information about this era
and there are examples to show you ways that you could colour and shade the pictures
as well as a collection of all of the original covers for reference. You could check and copy the colours from the original, or just pick your own like I did. There are 40 cover pictures included inside the book.
Because the pictures are not as detailed as some, and have larger spaces to colour, you can complete these pictures more quickly than some more intricate books. This makes it handy when you just want to take a short break to relax, colour and complete something more quickly, rather than having an hour or so to spend on the picture.
It’s interesting to see the different styles throughout the ages, and to see the fashions that appear in some of the older ones. Anyone who is interested in vintage things would enjoy this, or anyone who has been an avid reader of Mills & Boon romance books over the years.

Lovely relaxing colouring book
I agree that it is a different sort of colouring book than the other adult ones I’ve seen on various articles and discussed on blogs and social media. I wasn’t sold on the idea initially, but after reading positive reviews, where it seems pretty much everyone that has tried the adult colouring books enjoys them and finds it a relaxing and therapeutic way to spend some time out, that I’m sold on the idea and would love to try for myself – might even make me feel young again 😉 Fingers crossed.
This looks quite good, very romance based, but I don’t mind that – it’s different from all the nature-based colouring books around xx
