With Spring around the corner, here’s an easy and cute Spring craft for kids to make. They can customise it and decorate however they would like to personalise their own Spring chick however they like!
Supplies
To make this easy Spring chick craft you will need:
- Foam egg shape
- Foam chick shape
- Scissors
- Glue (we used Bostik brand)
- Coloured paper or card
- Googley eyes
- Straw or shredded paper
- Orange pipe cleaner
- Flower decorations, glitter and mini chick (optional extra decorations)
If you don’t have the foam shapes, draw and cut your own from cardboard and you can substitute for those.
Method
To make this Spring chick craft, you’ll need to cut across the egg in a zig zag shape to give the effect of it cracking open, to allow you to put the chick inside.
Glue these pieces down onto the paper or card (top of the egg first, then chick, then bottom of the egg) and you’re ready to decorate.
Get the kids to glue on the googley eyes, and a small piece of orange pipe cleaner for the chick’s beak.
Then they can glue down some straw or shredded paper or card to make a nest effect at the bottom of the page, where the egg sits, and even add extra mini chicks into the nest (you can get these in the Easter section in any craft store)
We chose to add some extra flowers and glitter first, to sparkle up the picture a bit, but those are optional extras.
This is a super easy spring craft that kids (from young toddlers and upwards) can do in under 15 minutes and with not too much mess.
