Mug cakes are perfect for those moments when you have a serious craving for something sweet, but don’t have any cake or chocolates in the house. Since you only make the one portion, it saves you from making a full size cake and then feeling tempted to eat more than you need – and bonus, it only takes a few minutes from start to finish!

Most of the microwave mug cakes have cooking time of only 1 minute, or even less and they don’t take long to put together.

Lately, I have been recommending this apple and cinnamon mug cake recipe to everyone (the first one in the list, with the frosting). If you’re not sure which mug cake recipe to try, give that one a go – I can vouch for it tasting great!

I gathered together a list of a few more mug cakes which look great too, and we’ll gradually work our way through them and test each one.

I have to try these 25 mug cake recipes, so many different varieties from nutella mug cakes to lemon mug cake. The apple and cinnamon mug cake with frosting is my favourite!

If you have a favourite mug cake recipe, do share that with us too!

  1. I am a Special Education teacher and I made this cake with my students. It was so easy and they loved it. It turned out to be a perfect lesson that will definitely be done again in the future.
