The Go MINI Night Challenge Raceway from Golden Bear toys has been a big hit with my kids. This is a remote controlled track, that comes with two cars and can be set to a choice of two speeds – fast for more experienced race car drivers, and a lower speed to help younger kids get to grips with the track.

The set is quite large, and will need an adult to set it up but this can be done quickly and easily and the track stays together well once set up.

The cars are easy to operate using the remote controllers, and all my kids grasped this easily (ages 4, 6 and 7). The set is suitable from age 3+ and I would say that is right, a 3 year old would be able to manage this especially on the low setting, and it’s a great toy that appeals well to a wide range of ages. As you can see my oldest, youngest, and their dad have all been enjoying it! (Excuse the mess in the background!!)

The cars in this set at all inspired by the famous Mini brand of cars, which my kids instantly recognise, and they look great racing around the track.

The underside of the cars glow as they race around the track, which gives a really cool effect to the race.

I shared a short video of them in action over on Instagram, where you can see some of this light up effect

Kids can play this as a 1 player race too, and then the other car will go round automatically which is an effect I hadn’t seen on similar toys before, and is really handy when one child wants to play alone.

The track is very well made, and looks like it will last well. My boys have been playing with it a lot over the past few weeks, and it’s been holding up very well, and not showing any signs of flimsiness. With three active boys, I do need their race tracks to be quite durable in order to last and so far this one has kept me impressed, and has kept them all happy!
