Chibi-Robo Zip Lash is a new platform game available on Nintendo 3DS. This is the first game in the Chibi-Robo! series that we have tried, although the character has been around since 2005 and has some previous games too. The kids have been having plenty of fun with getting to know Chibi-Robo and trying out this new game.

This game features the main character Chibi-Robo, the little roboto who swings his way through the levels, using his wire cord and plug. In this game, he is on a mission to stop aliens taking the Earth’s natural resources. He can use the cord and plug to attack enemies, and to hook himself up to higher platforms and move through the level. We found this fun to do, and the use of his cord and plug makes it quite different to other platform games that we have played on our 3DS.

The game is recommended for 7+ and I would say that’s about right for children to be able to play easily and get the most out of the game, but my 6 year old was fine with the game too and enjoyed the challenge of playing.

There is also a special Chibi-Robo Zip Lash amiibo available, although you can play the game without it. The little Chibi-Robo character looks really cute. If your kids are into robots then they would definitely love him! By using the amiibo in the game, you would be able to power him up into “Super Chibi-Robo”, but we managed fine playing without the amiibo too.
