As you might know if you have been a reader of In The Playroom for a while, I work from home so that I can stay home with the kids. I love being able to stay at home, decide my own hours and be my own boss and I’m so happy that I decided to take the “work at home” route.

Of course, not everyone’s family circumstances are the same and this is not the right option for every Mum. But if you do find yourself wishing that you could be around at home more, or that you could set your own hours and have a more flexible work day then perhaps a home business would be a good option for you.
Perhaps you’re at home already, but are looking for ways to bring in a little more income without giving up the role that you have at home.

I know that I find it really rewarding to have my own work from home, and to earn from something that I have built up from scratch by myself, and the numbers of women doing the same thing is growing all the time.
I know that working from home is not for everyone, and every Mum is doing the best that they can in their own circumstances.
Mums working long hours outside the home, are setting an example for their children about hard work and dedication.
Mums who stay at home and focus on the family and the home are contributing a really value role to their family.
Whatever role a Mum chooses to take, we all have many of the same trials and stresses, and the same love for our children, and I believe that stay at home or working mum never needs to be a battle. We are all parents in the same boat, and should support one another.

I work from home, although for a company rather than for myself. I feel so so lucky to be able to do this. I can’t imagine having to go back out to work and leave my baby with someone else!

I so wish we were in the position that I could work from home. We need my salary and the job I do really isn’t a working from home job. Maybe one day – I will keep dreaming and thinking of what I could do!! #mummymonday
