These smoked salmon pinwheels are an easy party food recipe that’s perfect as a canapé. They are so quick to put together and involve no baking or cooking – you can’t get it wrong!

If you’re looking for a quick no-cook party food recipe or appetiser, you should definitely give this one a try. It needs only 3 ingredients!

These salmon pinwheels would make a great tasty party food recipe for those fish eaters among your family and will work really well in a buffet.

When entertaining at home, it’s considerate to cater for all tastes and needs: the meat eaters, the vegetarians and vegans and the fish eaters.

This party food recipe is made from smoked salmon, which is not considered raw fish if you get the type which has been hot smoked, because the smoking process cures the fish and exposes it to high temperatures throughout.

Smoked salmon is okay for children to eat, although best to avoid giving to babies and very young children and we would recommend to stick with hot smoked salmon rather than cold smoked salmon, for the reasons explained above.

Smoked Salmon Pinwheels Party Food Recipe

Information:

This recipe makes approx 12 smoked salmon pinwheels

Just scale up the recipe accordingly if you are catering to a larger crowd.

Ingredients:

To make these no cook smoked salmon pinwheels you will need only three ingredients

  • 200g smoked salmon slices
  • 1 x 150g tube of Primula Original Cheese
  • 1 small pack of fresh dill

Method:

First, lay out the smoked salmon slices on a chopping board.

Next, pipe the Primula cheese back and forth over the surface of the fish giving a good coverage.

Now you’re ready to roll: Starting from the top edge, carefully roll the smoked salmon and cheese up to make a long sausage shape.

Place into freezer-proof container and pop everything into the freezer for 20 minutes to firm up.

After twenty minutes, remove and use a very sharp knife to gently cut down the roll at 2 cm intervals, using a sawing acting.

You may need to wipe the knife on a paper towel between slices.

To serve, arrange the smoked salmon pinwheels on a serving plate and sprinkle with chopped dill.
