All of my boys are interested in pirates, especially Mr T who really really loves pirates! So when I saw the new range of wooden toys from George at Asda I knew that the wooden pirate ship was likely to be a hit in our house.
The wooden pirate ship is a good size. It’s on the larger side but not so big that it takes up too much space in the house. Mr T loves to keep it on display in his room when it’s not being played with, and it looks great.
There is minimal assembly required for the pirate ship, but it’s pretty much a case of just slotting in the mast and some of the pieces where they need to go. There is no screwdriver required, and the instructions were very easy to follow.
The ship comes with two wooden pirate figures, rope ladders, moveable anchor, textile sails, opening treasure chest, two moveable cannons and a steering wheel. The little pirate figures are very cute and have movable limbs.
The back of the ship has an opening with a removable panel so that you can easily store all the accessories inside when not in use, to prevent them getting lost around the house. This is quite a handy feature.
The quality of the pirate ship overall and all of the little accessories is great. They are all made of solid wood and feel very sturdy. This has withstood lots of play so far, and I’m sure it will continue to do so.
The pirate ship is great for promoting imaginative small world play, which helps children develop their story telling skills and can be great for language development. Mr T and Mr R are starting to get interested in this type of play these days, and since there are two pirate figures they are able to play together with the pirate ship toy.
They especially love the little treasure chest. Isn’t it cute!
In addition to this pirate ship, George have some great value wooden dolls houses, wooden play cafe, wooden baby walkers and more.
The wooden pirate ship is only £25, which is a great price for a wooden toy like this and the whole range is similarly affordable.

I love this range. I think it’s great that so many more children will be introduced to imaginative wooden toys. We have a pirate ship like this but we don’t have a treasure chest! Boo!
It looks really good quality and plenty of playability
