The 2014 Scottish Friendly Children’s Book Tour kicked off with award winning Jonathan Meres in January. During June the tour travelled to the (relatively) burning hot beaches Brighton and Hove with award-winning Scottish picture book author Chae Strathie. The book tour (organised by Scottish Book Trust) takes the very best UK and international authors directly into schools across Scotland and the UK to inspire a love of reading, writing and illustration. Up next is the fantastic zoologist and children’s author Nicola Davies. She will be visiting Argyll & Bute this September to inspire and excite pupils.

Chae Strathie has written many picture books for children including Loon on the Moon and Jumblebum as well as Bedtime for Tiny Mouse.
Bedtime for Tiny Mouse is charming story about a little mouse who can’t get to sleep, which makes perfect bedtime reading for the under 5s.
Tiny Mouse is wide awake. He curls and twirls, he flips and flops, and he snuggles and huggles – but still he can’t sleep. His dad gives him a cup of warm milk, his mum tells him to try counting sheep, and even his big brother Milo has some advice… but nothing works, and Tiny Mouse is still wide awake. Luckily his Grandma knows just how to help soothe him to sleep… This soft, sweet picture book is ideal for sharing with little ones – and is the perfect addition to a soothing bedtime routine which will help them sleep soundly.

these look like lovely stories , just right for snuggling up with , I have not read any of these books with my 3 year old but they look so nice that I am going to look into obtaining some .
My granddaughter has Selective Mutism. Although we have always read to her, she is now beginning to read to herself which is truly wonderful to hear her occasionally read some words or giggle out loud when she thinks nobody can hear her.
