Pump up the action with Pumpaloons!

We were really happy to try out Pumpaloons from Drumond Park this month. Mr Z has spotted it on the TV quite a few times and always liked the look of it. It’s a very active game, quite different than a traditional board game, and ideal for the summer as it can be played out in the garden as well as indoors.

pumpaloon3The aim of the game is to race to blow up your pumpaloon first. The game comes with two inflatable pumpaloon characters – Stripeyloon and Spottyloon – and two pumps. It’s very quick to set up the pumps and then the children are ready to get started. Mr Z and Mr T both enjoyed playing this and got started with the pumping using their feet. You can also use your hands or any body part, so you could mix it up a bit by setting the children different challenges for each round!

pumpaloon2There is sand in the base of each Pumpaloon so that they will stand up well once they are pumped up, although they can wobble around, but they are overall pretty stable.

The boys really enjoyed this game with lots of laughs and they loved the element of racing each other.

Drumond Park PumpaloonsI really liked the game as it’s energetic, and having active games like this can be a great way to channel their energy. I would love it if the game could come with slightly more pumpaloons, so that 3 or 4 children could play at once as I think that would add to the fun and also make life easier when there are more than 2 siblings in a house. You could buy two of the game to get around that but it would be cool if there were 3 or 4 included. It would be a great party game to play with several children and lots of Pumpaloons out in the garden!
