We’ve been focusing on fractions lately and Mr Z has been having lots of fun playing the Fraction Formula game. Simple fractions can be introduced early on to give children a great grounding to work from as they get older and move on to equivalent fractions or calculating with fractions. Here are 10 more fun ways to introduce and learn about Fractions.
Most of these ideas involve a very practical approach of hands on learning through play, allowing children to pick up the concept of fractions in a relaxed fashion.

I am a qualified and experienced primary school teacher (though a full time mum at the mo) and I must admit that children love learning fractions when you teach them using practical hands on resources including cutting up cakes, sharing biscuit/sweets, chopping veg etc! Some really good ideas here!
I teach people with intellectual disabilities and completely agree with Tracy (above). Practical, hands-on learning is a fun way to learn and I have always believed that learning should be fun!
