I have never lived on my own as a single person, because I got married when I was still in my teens but I was quite interested to find out how much being in a relationship can save you money, compared to living alone. I am sure if my husband and I had our own separate homes we would end up spending pretty much twice the amount on everything, because we would both still need all the basic household costs like electricity, internet and tv package and groceries – which are often cheaper when you buy bigger packets and share. We would also both have to travel separately and pay two sets of travel costs rather than sharing our car journeys together.
