I had seen the Chill Factor Slushy Maker demonstrated a while back and was meaning to get one for the boys when we start to get some more Summer weather. We were sent one to review so we have been trying it out already, and I can see this coming in quite handy over the Summer holidays.

The Chill Factor Slushy Maker can be used with any drink of your choice and is extremely quick. because you keep it in the freezer so when you want to make the slushy the cup is already frozen. This means you can just pour your juice in, squish and squeeze the cup for one minute and it’s ready to enjoy! The slushy shown above is made from orange juice.

In the pack you get one slushy make cup and lid, one spoon straw, and an instruction sheet. The cups are available in a variety of colours – blue, green, red or pink. It would be nice to get two more colours for the boys so that over summer they could have one each when they are playing out in the garden and easily know whos is whos.  They love the Slushy Maker!

I found the slushy maker very easy to use. It really is just as simple as pouring in the drink and then squeezing it. The only thing I can advise is don’t over fill the cup as you will need to leave space for the drink to move around within the cup while being squeezed, so if you fill it right up to the top it won’t be so easy to make the slushy. It has a large capacity anyway so can make adult sized portions as well as children’s. The slushies work well while relaxing and watching a movie as well as while playing outdoors, and if you use healthy drinks it will be much healthier than eating ice creams. You can even make dairy slushies with flavoured milk or milkshakes. These take a little longer to slush than juice or fizzy drinks, so you need to pour in the drink, place the cup back in the freezer for a few minutes, and then take it back out for squeezing.

The Chill Factor slushy maker is BPA free and non toxic. The lid, spoon and straw are top rack dishwasher safe but the cup itself must be hand washed. It’s recommended to keep it in the freezer in between uses.
