Springtime Fun in the Garden

I’m so glad that Spring is finally here and hopefully we will start having more warm days for the boys to spend more time in the garden. Over the summer they spend hours outside every day. They are always so happy just playing together in the garden, making up their own games and using up their energy. We haven’t been out in the garden for quite a while now over Winter, so this week they were so excited to get back out there. We have had a couple of lovely days with gorgeous blue skies – perfect for some Springtime fun in the garden.

It’s still cold enough to need to wrap up in a coat though and fairly wet outside, but at least there are signs that Spring is finally on its way.

Our garden has got really over grown over the Winter and I am still meaning to get some of it repaved and made into a bigger play area for sand and water play, and bikes and ride-ons. Mr Z has a very cool y-volution scooter to test out which I will be telling you about soon, and it would be great to have more space for that kind of thing in the garden as well as using it out and about.

The boys had fun filling up buckets with stones and collecting and tipping rain water into different containers

Of course they were so happy to get back on their climbing equipment too

They love to climb and slide, and see how tall they are when they stand on the highest bit, as tall as the trees!

We are all looking forward to lots more Spring and Summer days for more outdoors fun. I love seem them enjoy the simple pleasures of playing outside. (Yes, I do know I should probably get them some all in one rain suits and take them outside in all weathers!)

  1. We had a lovely bright Saturday too and then a dingy wet Sunday and on Saturday it was birthday party time but we didn’t get the chance to get out – shame!

It sounds like you had a really lovely time to begin spring.

  2. Oh Anna what a beautiful post, such lovely sunny photos too. It’s so nice when they can get outdoors isn’t it. The boys are positively glowing! I’m hoping we get a Summer like last year so we can all hang out in the sun and play in the garden. Lovely post, thank you so much for sharing #whatsthestory

  3. Such lovely photos of your boys having a great time together. You don’t have to take them far or spend lots of money, children are quite happy to get their dose of fresh air in the garden and have some creative and energetic play. Thanks for linking up and sharing their Springtime fun with Country Kids.

  6. We have also been spending lots of time in the garden with our pots and watering cans collecting rubble and soil! But my pictures are not as beautiful and clear as yours!
A good excuse for me to finally link up to Coombe mill though.
