To enchant, educate and excite, the Children’s Literature Festival will be featuring well-loved authors and illustrators thanks to recognised book retailer Waterstones. The return of Roald Dahl Museum and their superior animated storytellers bringing to life the world of the B.F.G., Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Twits.

Amusing and thrilling shows include the Electric Cabaret bringing a new mime show to the Family Theatre, theatre percussion group Glamba who fuse Brazilian, African and Western beats played on drum kits, dustbins and congas, and the Bubble Show with SamSam the BubbleMan the most famous bubbleologist in the world plus many many more will be entertaining over the weekend.

Wychwood impresses with over 100 bands across four stages including sounds of soul legends The Real Thing, heritage favorites The Stranglers, Irish New Wave band The Boomtown Rats complete with Sir Bob Geldof and disco and soul guru Craig Charles. Folk lovers will not be left disappointed as Merry Hell, a modern folk-rock band and Polly and the Billets Doux, a harmony blend of country, blues and folk will bring the distinguished genre at the heart of Wychwood alive.

  4. Seeing the kids dancing to all the songs that they recognise from different films and then realising that there’s a lot of brilliant music that doesn’t get played at the school disco!

  5. Spending some time off as a family and introducing my son to the wonders of Roald Dahl. With a grandad and dad both with beards I think he is going to love The Twits as he gets older!
