Our Zack & Quack Party

You might remember recently we were involved in hosting the #Zackandquack Twitter party along with 29 other bloggers and their families. Well at the same time as the Twitter party, we had our own Zack & Quack party at home! This was a fun craft party and the boys loved it.

We were sent enough supplies for 6 children to take part in the party and ideas of lots of fun Zack & Quack activities and crafts to try out.

Zack and Quack is all about 7 year old Zack who has a garden which is a pop up world! As he explores with his pop up papercraft adventures, we decided to make some paper and card models and crafts of our own. We love crafts and junk modelling (you can see one of our previous junk modelling posts here for more ideas) so the party was a lot of fun! I’m also really happy to see a new show coming out with this kind of theme.

The children all enjoyed crafting freely with the materials and filling in the Zack and Quack worksheets. We had lots of little models and creations made rather than just one big one. Some of them not very recognisable what they were supposed to be! But all lots of fun and a great way for the children to use their imaginations and creativity, and explore the materials.

We also had some colourful creations of different coloured tissue paper glued over the whole surface of paper plates, which gives a stained glass kind of effect.

One of the most popular activities with the children was decorating biscuits.

zackquackcollage3As they are all young, we just did simple designs like making rainbows with the coloured icing sugar, or just squeezing it on in whatever design they fancied! After all their hard word building and crafting they enjoyed sitting down and eating up their decorated biscuits.

We also watched the premiere of Zack & Quack on Nick Jr during the party. This kept them all entertained and engaged. You can see a trailer for the show here, and catch it on Nick Jr

If you would like to try out an idea at home, what about this Origami jumping frog?

  1. Unfortunately we keep missing Zack & Quack. I don’t know how to use Virgin yet so haven’t managed to record it either :/ I will make an extra effort to figure it out- or get my hubby to do it as it looks like a great show & I think my son would really enjoy it.
I will definitely be making an origami frog or two- I can see us having lots of fun with them 🙂 x

  2. This looks like so much fun!! We love Nick Jr. shows, they’re my son’s favorite, I just looked on the tv to see if I could find this show and it appears we don’t have it here! Sad :(.
