Small Steps Amazing Achievements – “Mummy”

I have been meaning to join up to the Small Steps Amazing Achievements linky more often to update about Mr T’s progress. He is doing really well and his speech seems to be coming on amazingly at the moment! We still have a long way to go, but thinking that a year ago he had only a couple of unclear words and such limited sounds, its unbelievable how far he has come.

Any new words he says make me so happy and proud, but in the last couple of days I had the best surprise from him – He has learned to say Mummy!! With an M! Due to his speech disorder he has difficulty with speech sound production so although he has been attempting this word for a good few months now, he always said Bubby because he had no M.

The other day he was sat snuggling on my lap and he started to say “mummy, my mummy, my mummy, my mummy!” Since then he has kept saying it! It is so cute, and such a lovely surprise to hear him say this!

Now if I say Meemy to him (that’s his nickname), he will say Mummy – and we can keep going back and forth and he is managing to say it every time! For every mum its a great moment to hear these words from your little one, but after waiting nearly 4 years – even more so!

Look how clear he is! Masha Allah – my clever little teddy 😀

  1. This is fantastic, I’m longing to hear these words so I can totally understand how you feel. Such a clear little boy, keep those words coming.
