There are still a couple of weeks left of the summer holidays, and if you are running low on ideas to entertain the kids before they go back to school, John Lewis have come up with a few suggestions to keep them entertained! You can see their full post here
These are all great ideas, many of which I have been enjoying doing with the boys over the summer, and a few more I would love to try out like a teddy bear picnic in the woods – but there is still time, so maybe we can fit it in!
What I love about these ideas is that they are all really simple, easy and accessible. Nothing that takes a lot of planning or lot of expense, but they are the kind of activities which form memories to be treasured as the children grow up.
One of our activities for today was #2 on the list – baking! It reminds me of my own childhood to mix the cake mixture and of course licking the mixing spoon once you are done, so it is sweet to see my own children now doing and enjoying the same things which I always enjoyed doing together with my sister. It’s funny to think, 20 years ago I was the little one mixing the cakes and now the roles are reversed!
So, thanks to the suggestions from the new John Lewis 20 Ideas for Summer fun, we may enjoy the rest of our summer with a bit more gardening, paper aeroplane flying and some outdoor team games.
What about you?
Are there any more ideas you would have added to the list? If I was to add one more it would be den making. My boys love dens – indoors, outdoors, any kind of dens! Let me know your ideas in the comments 🙂 Have a great end of the summer holidays everyone!
